The Role:

 

The Senior Editor will be responsible for maintaining, creating, organizing and editing all website content, including non-product and product-focused content.  This individual will evaluate existing content, establish new content, and work with the marketing and graphics departments to update content on the website and through external sources.  The Senior Editor will assess content effectiveness through reports and inform management regarding its status.  This individual will propose actions to reach marketing goals and manage the day-to-day challenges of the editorial.

Position Responsibilities:Research, create, proofread, and manage content promoting Birthday in a Box.Create and/or proofread all outbound content and site content.Maintain and enhance content for internal and external search engine optimization.Participate in a leadership role in developing compelling web content.Develop and manage content schedules, monitor the progress of content areas, and uphold editorial standards, project requirements and deadlines.Maintain editorial calendar that synchronizes with marketing and merchandising efforts.Develop content guidelines.Facilitate seamless integration with editorial and graphics.Provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis of editorial efforts using Omniture, Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, and other internal tools.Coordinate with other editors and managers to ensure that all links to Birthday in a Box are set up properly.Maintain relationships through regular communication via email, and phone.

Requirements:College degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.2-5 years of experience in Journalism and/or web content.  Web marketing is an asset.Exceptional project management skills.Content Management System experience is a plus.Search Engine Optimization experience preferred.

 

This is a regular, full-time position. No relocation is available.
