Senior Engineer: Network & Infrastructure

We are searching for a Senior Network Engineer who is experienced in designing, implementing and troubleshooting complex network and data center infrastructures. This Senior Engineer will play a leadership role in our mid-sized, publicly traded client's IT division and will have substantial exposure to senior business executives. He or she will develop and execute the company's global network strategy as well as upgrade the data center environments to maximize productivity.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business counterparts, clients and vendors. One of the key requirements of the role is to present strategy to senior executives, from the creation of the presentation material to its delivery in front of small groups.

The core and peripheral technical skills required for this position include:

Networking (core requirement):
** Design, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex networks
** Cisco certification(s) and advanced routing/switching and VLAN experience
** Deep experience with a variety of routing and network protocols (BGP, IGRP/EIGRP, OSPF, etc. NAT/PAT, QOS, etc.)
** MPLS expertise

Security (important):
** Firewall and VPN configuration and management
** Intrusion Detection solutions
** Vulnerability assessments and device hardening

Data Center (important):
** Experience with large server deployments and highly available production environments
** Redundancy and failover configurations, including VRRP, HSRP and global load balancing solutions

Telco/Bandwidth Specs (core) -- Solid understanding of broadband circuit provisioning and alternative connectivity options

General Server Support (important) -- Some experience with unix/linux administration

Business and Presentation Skills:
** A history of gathering requirements in consultation with multiple technical and non-technical parties
** Ability to design and articulate solutions with multiple options
** Diagram, write and present detailed technical solutions via PowerPoint and other common tools

Education and Certifications:
** Required: Bachelors degree (preferably in Computer Science or Engineering)
** Desired: One or more Cisco or other certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.) or CISSP

Well qualified candidates can expect a base salary between $125-140K plus bonus, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
