Come work on products that will be seen by millions of people.Job DescriptionYou prefer front-end development because you're creative and visual and have a good eye for design. You handicraft W3C Valid XHTML/CSS markup, that is compatible with modern browsers (the list includes IE6). We expect you to deliver clearly commented, maintainable and sustainable code that will make sense to our Back-End Developers. You know what the box model hack is and what versions of IE it works for. You may love Firebug because it saves your life or you are so good you don't need it.You’ll be responsible for editing and maintaining our template and CSS code. Additionally, you will be converting existing tables-based, legacy front-end code as well as creating new templates.Familiarity with Fireworks and design concepts is necessary as you will slice images and perhaps design a button or promo in a pinch. Translations from the designs to final code should be a match, pixel-for-pixel.What would be an added bonus: Now, if you’re a guru with additional XML/XSLT skills and can convert this markup into XSLT, that’s even better, but obviously, not required.Specifics• 4+ years experience implementing user interface design• Ability to create valid, table-less layouts, using only CSS for presentation• Expertise with hand-coded XHTML/CSS• Solid cross-platform and cross-browser development experience• Strong understanding of Web Accessibility and Standards• Experience with skinning templates for, maintaining and developing for CMSes • Overall familiarity with web-based community features such as forums, content management systems, chat, etc.Preferred Skills• UI or Graphic Design experience• JavaScript/DOM• ASP.net We work and play hard here.
