Senior Manager, Audience Development

Reporting to the VP, Digital Media Director, the Senior Manager, Audience Development is responsible for growing the audience to Christies.com, the online destination of the world’s leading art business.

The right individual will be responsible for an online development strategy that includes identification of on-brand leverageable sources of traffic, design and implementation of marketing plans to expand those sources, and staying abreast of industry & technology trends in order create new sources. You will manage the annual budget from forecasting traffic volumes to estimating marketing expenses.

Your audience responsibilities will also include: understanding site traffic patterns to senior management, analyzing and improving current site metrics (such as pages consumed per visitor, time spent on site, frequency of return, etc), recognizing trends in consumer content needs and timelines in order to enhance traffic drivers such as SEM, partnership marketing, affiliate marketing, online media buys, site recirculation, and managing other sponsored traffic-driving events.

In this high profile position, you will work closely with the Head of Product Management, Head of Site Analytics & Optimization and the external SEM/SEO agency. Candidate should demonstrate initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal and analytical skills. The ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly is a must-have. Knowledge of the online marketplace is a plus. This position co-manages a skilled Digital Media Analyst.

 

Skills/Qualifications

· 8+ years experience in online content or ecommerce related business with marketing P&L responsibilities

· Strong understanding of media buying and proven results-driven delivery

· Exceptional degree of intelligence, analytic skill, conceptual thinking, common sense and leadership. Strong business acumen.

· College degree required in Marketing or Business discipline. MBA required.

· Strong leadership and organizational skills

· Results-oriented with a willingness to take responsibility and initiative

· Must work well in a ‘start-up’ and metrics-based environment, including experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies.

· Competitive mind-set to enter and win in an already competitive marketplace

· Detailed understanding of internet technologies

· Some ability to manipulate data in MS Access and Excel

· Knowledge of Web Analytic Tools (e.g., Omniture)

· Proven ability to write product specifications

· Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
