Senior Manager, Marketing Optimization Be a key part of one of the largest online marketing programs on earth! Amazon.com is looking for a leader who is passionate about online marketing, who is experienced in building world class teams, and who has the ability to contribute major new innovations in the industry. As our Sr. Manager, Marketing Optimization, you will set the worldwide methodology for marketing experimentation in paid search and display advertising, and be directly responsible for US testing operations. The ideal candidate delivers a balanced mix of marketing science, creative execution and a bias for action. The Sr. Manager, Marketing Optimization is the lead expert for company-wide marketing testing platforms and operations. To start, the successful candidate will work in lock-step with paid search leadership to: Continually improve our testing technologies and processes for paid search campaigns Direct the creative optimization of campaigns, enhance keyword portfolios/processes, manage keyword groupings, etc. Drive the strategic direction of Amazon’s proprietary technology based on analysis of customer needs, technology trends, competitive movements and industry developments Support category teams to maximize the business potential of Amazon’s SEM business Demonstrate domain expertise and educate internal groups about our SEM testing, technologies and capabilities Actively test keyword match types, day parts, geo-targeting, text and landing pages to increase ROI Translate testing results and requirements into product specifications and development plansIn addition, the Sr. Manager, Marketing Optimization will: Evaluate existing testing tools and capabilities and establish new systems and processes as needed for trafficking and managing tests/testing programs Integrate with Channel Management, Creative and Analytics teams to provide strategic leadership and tactical marketing expertise Manage A/B and multivariate testing calendar and drive analytics and reporting associated with product, offer and yield optimization tests Define and develop measurement models with the Analytics team 7+ years online marketing and optimization experience, 5+ years management experience Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team Deep understanding of optimization practices and expert-level skills in creative and graphical design Strong experience with direct marketing operations, systems, and technologies across direct response media (online and offline preferred) Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills — Excel expertise is a must. Experience with business intelligence tools, statistical software, and/or 3rd party web analytics are all big pluses Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Math/Statistics, Business or related field required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred
