Amazon.com’s online marketing team is expanding and looking for individuals with experience in developing, implementing, analyzing and optimizing traffic building strategies across multiple online channels worldwide. This group operates as a unique entity complete with its own technology team. Bring your internet marketing expertise to this team and you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a small group of innovative, technologically sophisticated marketing experts that are continually driving traffic to all areas of the Amazon.com website by: Developing new channels and building innovative programs for existing channels; growing the world’s largest affiliate program and the world’s largest comparison shopping programs; using the most technologically advanced segmentation and targeting algorithms to reach every slice of the worlds online population. Your RoleThe senior media buyer will develop and evaluate all types of online display and other interactive media plans and tests. This is an exciting opportunity to go big, with a global retail and technology leader. As a Sr. Media Buyer for Amazon, you will leverage your extensive network of media contacts to implement and buy against your online media plans/goals, while also proactively seeking new interactive media opportunities to generate high conversion, high contribution traffic. The ideal candidate is a skilled negotiator with a strong sense of accountability, and a keen focus on delivering solid customer experiences with exciting bottom-line results. Primary Responsibilities Develop media plans, strategies and tactics across CPA, CPC and CPM online media channels Aggressively identify, evaluate, negotiate and execute cost-effective media agreements (partnerships, IO’s, RFP’s) to provide qualified and profitable traffic Take ownership of campaign performance and adjust tactics to meet campaign objectives and budgets Partner with Campaign Management and Analytics teams to evaluate and improve (as necessary) systems and methods of reporting and campaign evaluation Partner with Creative team to develop more effective online banner and graphical advertising creative Work closely with Campaign Management staff daily to analyze campaign performance and optimize buy criteria to maximize ROI Develop and manage strong relationships with national and international networks, portals and publishers Work closely with the Director, Targeted Advertising to establish a scalable framework and workflow for global media buying and planning 5+ years of interactive media buying and planning experience — other direct response media buying experience or online business development experience is a huge plus Track record of success in metrics-driven media buying and planning (demonstrated financial results and impact) Strong experience with 3rd party ad serving tools (Atlas, DFA, Mediaplex, etc.) Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities — strong excel skills are key Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Math/Statistics or related field required
