Senior Product Manager, Online Text Amazon currently offers over 1 million online text documents for sale and we have plans to vastly expand the size of the business. Our vision is to enable publishers to sell their online text (examples: consumer research reports, online practice tests that supplement textbooks, genealogy database access, book chapters and abstracts, and lots more) using a selection of business models, and to enable customers to purchase and access this content via Amazon. The Amazon Digital Text team is looking for an experienced, innovative, results-oriented, product-centric team player to play a key role this exciting expansion. If you're looking for a start-up type environment where you have your hands in everything (product management, marketing, business development), but with the resources of a Fortune 500 company, this is the job for you. Some of the key job functions will be: Research and identify new opportunities for Amazon to sell online text content Write product/marketing requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams. Requirements should be based on intimate knowledge of the product space, existing data analysis and current customers, prospects and publisher needs Establish the product mission, goals, and supporting business metrics and indicators for success Work with our merchandising team to create e-mail campaigns and on-site campaigns, measure their success, and refine our marketing tactics going forward Identify and create relationships with specific publisher prospects in promising content verticals. Educate publishers and sign them up for using Amazon to distribute their digital content Develop programs, feature requests, and processes to drive sales of existing publishers and publisher segments. Demonstrated ability to translate market needs into business and product requirements Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with strategic partners, internal teams, and senior management Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts Strong interest and knowledge in digital technologies and media, especially in text Street smarts and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary 5+ years product management experience in consumer-facing digital media or e-commerce Sales/business development experience a plus Publishing industry experience a plus Bachelor's degree required, degree in Computer Science a plus MBA preferred
