Senior Search Engine Marketing Specialist

CARFAX provides trusted information that helps people buy and sell used cars with more confidence. Millions of consumers and thousands of dealers use CARFAX® Vehicle History Reports™ to make decisions that may affect their business, family’s safety and finances.

CARFAX has an opportunity for a for a highly motivated search engine marketing professional. We need an experienced online marketer to help drive our pay-per-click (PPC) search, organic search and affiliate marketing programs and to manage our social media marketing program.

Candidate will report to the Search Engine Marketing Manager and will work in our corporate headquarters in Northern Virginia.

Job Function

·         Manage PPC search marketing campaigns.  This will entail developing creative, managing bids, optimizing traffic within a set budget, and reporting and analyzing results. 

·         Develop and optimize Web site content as needed.

·         Prioritize social media marketing projects according to company goals.  Develop and execute social media marketing plans.  Network within relevant online communities.  Build out social media channels and tools. 

·         Measure and report search and social media marketing performance regularly.  Analyze data and recommend/implement strategies to improve performance. 

·         Monitor use of CARFAX trademarks by other companies in search and work with internal teams to resolve inappropriate trademark use.

·         Stay current on emerging search and social media marketing trends, strategies and tools.  For example, the person in this role will be expected to understand which social media networks are most important, and how to work within those networks.

Qualifications

·         Experience in search engine marketing. 

·         Project management skills including prioritization, implementation and follow-up. 

·         Understanding of and passion for social media marketing.  Professional experience with social media marketing preferred. 

·         Great writing and spelling skills, with an eye for detail.

·         Comfort analyzing data in order to draw conclusions and develop strategies.  Ability to professionally present data and strategies to employees at higher levels.

·         Curiosity to explore and understand new technologies and industry trends.

·         At least five years of professional experience, preferably in Internet Marketing or similar field.

·         Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Business or related field.
