Senior Software QA Engineer

THE ROLE

Netflix is seeking an outgoing, curious, interdisciplinary software quality assurance engineer to work in a rapid development environment with multiple internal business customers. This job presents an opportunity to work closely with the user community and the development team to endlessly improve on an evolving and expanding highly successful business model. Your strong communication skills combined with your customer centric quality assurance perspective will enable you to deliver powerful homegrown software applications and customized off-the-shelf applications to Netflix internal customer groups, including finance, content, operations, HR and marketing.

To succeed in this role you should be passionate about the internal customer’s business as well as the field of software quality assurance. An ability to think critically and outside the box is a must. Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Design, develop and execute comprehensive test plans for financial applications.
• Develop and adhere to testing standards including methods and documentation.
• Coordinate execution of automated testing, user acceptance testing, regression and integration testing with appropriate groups.
• Document test results and work directly with technical/functional IT resources and end users to resolve issues.


Experience & Competencies:

Required:
• Thorough knowledge of Software Development Life cycle and QA processes.
• Experience in developing and executing test plans and procedures.
• Ability to work well with business, functional and technical resources in design, development and QA.
• Ability to effectively document, track and troubleshoot applications.
• Established verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong SQL exposure, Relational Database concepts.
• Test automation using at least one product like Winrunner / Mercury / Test Direct.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and ability to validate IT SOX controls.

Nice To Have:
• Business Systems Analyst and/or software development experience.
• Scripting familiarity, e.g Perl, etc.

Education:
BS in Engineering or similar degree, or equivalent work experience.
