Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Glendale, CA

MTV Networks is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work out of our Glendale office for the Internet Systems Group. The Internet Systems Group supports the Production Online infrastructure for MTV Networks properties. We are looking for a bright, proactive individual to work with our development teams to architect and build solutions for the various online properties owned by MTV Networks. The position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule and occasional travel to our offices in SF and NY.

JOB SKILLS

• Expert-level Linux experience (CentOS/RedHat preferred)

• Advanced scripting ability (bash/perl)

• Storage Technologies: Large scale NAS management and replication

• Cacti (SNMP monitoring and writing plugin scripts)

• Nagios (writing plugin scripts)

• Apache/PHP

• Jboss

• Tomcat

• MySQL

• Sybase

• Oracle

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of UNIX/Linux experience or equivalent work experience in a fast paced, large Web Hosting environment

EDUCATION

• Computer Science Degree or equivalent
