Software Engineer/Application Developer

Bring your software development expertise to support our next-generation platform to help satisfy the tremendous demand of our Fortune 100 customer base.  Regulus has immediate multiple openings within our expanding Software Development team to support growth of our customer base.  Positions are located in one or more of the following sites: Southern Napa, CA (close to Marin, Sonoma and Solano counties), Dallas/Coppell, Texas and/or Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

You will be challenged with projects to create new platform components, create custom applications, esign/redesign applications based on customer requirements, and implement best practices for the full product life cycle from design to production and maintenance on a database-centric, Java platform running on UNIX.  You may also maintain existing applications in a UNIX environment.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

· 5+ years programming experience on complex systems using one or more major programming language(s) such as C, C++, Java, Perl, Python.

 

· Advanced SQL experience with at least one relational database (Oracle preferred).

 

· Familiarity with software "best practices" including build systems and version control.  Ability to design and build new applications from the ground up.

 

· Experience developing on UNIX and/or Linux; experience with Windows desktop environments and applications is a plus.

 

· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to solve complex problems and work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.

 

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

 

Desired:

· Oracle or other major relational database programming experience (PL/SQL preferred).

· HTML, CSS, JavaScript

· Knowledge of at least one "scripting" language such as Perl, Python or Ruby. 

· Subversion.

· Oracle Application Server, JBoss, Tomcat, Spring Framework, Axis, Oracle Workflow, Tapestry

· Experience moving legacy applications to Java environments

· Knowledge of print languages and document processing and/or remittance processing a plus.
