Software Engineer, J2ME

   Software Engineer will be responsible for developing Trimble Outdoors mobile handset Java software applications on a wide variety of mobile handsets with a wide variety of wireless operators.  Must have skills include:-two years experience programming in the Java language-one year experience programming J2ME-two years experience with Eclipse-two years experience with ANT-one year experience with SQL Experience in the following areas is highly desirable but not mandatory :- experience with J2EE programming- experience with Perl- experience with Hibernate- experience with C# programming- experience programming in the Qualcomm BREW mobile environment Primary Responsibilities:1 – Software Engineer will modify existing and develop new Java software for mobile handsets under the direction of more senior developers.2 – Software Engineer will modify existing software and write new software for various web services that run on Trimble servers under the direction of more senior developers.3 – Software Engineer will be responsible for interacting with Test engineers to fix software bugs4 – Software Engineer will interact from time to time with personnel from various wireless operator customers. Outdoor Enthusiast:  Software Engineer should be an avid outdoors enthusiast with experience hiking, backpacking, running, biking, and/or geocaching.  The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about actively using Trimble products outside the same way our customers do. Start-up Environment:  The successful candidate will be capable of multi-tasking and will be flexible as priorities change in a fast paced environment. Education:  Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering or computer science is required.   Pay Range:  $65,000 to $75,000 per year based on individual experience and qualifications. Work Hours:  40 hours per week is mandatory with some instances of up to 50 hours per week in peak periods.  Some outdoor testing may require early morning start times to benefit from cooler conditions.  Occasional travel will be required. Location: Tempe, Arizona In today's fast paced world, increasing productivity is key to business success.
