Sr. Application Database Engineer
Application Database Administrator
My client is a hot dot com company that has been around for over 11 years and is booming! Great product, very cool people, and generous stock option packages. Located in downtown S.F. right next to a Bart station. They are currently seeking a full time Application Database Administrator.
What you will be doing:
· Managing the database schema
· Creating and maintaining the data dictionary
· Ensuring data integrity and providing reporting data to business users.
· Database architecture and application development
· Working with the Operations DBA to monitor system health and performance, as well as be a backup on-call person for database issues.What you will need:
· 5+ years hands-on experience with SQLServer database application development
· Experience in SQL database development using various T-SQL programming technique
· Strong coding and development knowledge by using Microsoft SQL 2000 DTS and SQL 2005 Integration services (SSIS).
· Good knowledge with reporting tools such as MS Access, Analysis Services and Reporting Services
· Experience with, and ability to perform failover in high availability SQL and MySQL environment by using log shipping, replication and database clustering.
· Experience with, and ability to act as principle database development architect and as primary technical resource for software engineers
· Experience with, and ability to support software engineers on high performance database schema design and data modeling, as well as optimizing queries
· Experience managing SQL Server and MySQL in production/QA/dev environments including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, upgrades and schema changes, etc.
· Experience with, and ability to develop and monitor backup and recovery processes
· Must be familiar with a source control system such as CVS, Subversion, ClearCase, or similar systems.
· Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
