System Operations Engineer

LoopNet is looking for a Systems Operations Engineer for our Monrovia office. In this role you will work with the team lead to respond and troubleshoot all issues that are reported with the automated monitoring tool (MOM 2007) affecting Loopnet’s various computing environments. Additionally, coordinate all development build cycles and deployments from QA to Production, following Loopnet’s already established SDLC (software development life cycle).

Essential Functions:

•Share the responsibility of monitoring Loopnet’s production environment as well as internal development and testing environments which operate on a 24x7x365 basis.

•In the change management capacity, assist with all Installations, configurations, and maintenance of the custom Microsoft .Net 2.0 LoopNet developed software on IIS servers in a web farm.

•Administer the company’s Visual Studio Team Foundation and SharePoint 3.0 servers.

•Maintain and update Loopnet’s System Operation manual including the documentation on the various Loopnet processes and computing environments.

•General understanding of the SDLC, (Software Development Life Cycle), including source control, configuration, build, and branch management techniques. General knowledge of Microsoft .Net, C# or Visual Basic would be helpful in this position.

Experience:

•Minimum 3 years experience in a support role for a high bandwidth, high profile web server farm utilizing windows 2000/2003 servers and IIS.

•3+ years of configuration, management and deployment in a similar environment to Loopnet’s. (business based on a 24x7x365 highly available web service)

•Demonstrated knowledge of coding with one or more of build, and management scripts, VBScript, MSBuild, and Windows Power Shell.

•Excellent work ethic and willingness to put in significant extra time as needed

•Remain available for pre-scheduled weekend or after-hours projects that require system downtime and as such have to be carried out at “non-peak” times.

•Excellent ability to coordinate multiple concurrent activities with complex dependencies and work closely with other teams

•Detail oriented, consistent, and reliable.
