UX Research Manager

User Experience Research Manager Monster is looking to hire a User Experience Research Manager to drive research projects and initiatives for a group of 5+ user experience researchers and help us redefine how consumers will use the internet to search for jobs and candidates, connect, network and manage their careers. You will be a leader in helping teams understand how to meet and anticipate the needs of customers, and be adept at setting research directions and goals, as well as translating research results into conclusions to set the direction for design. You will work in conjunction with Seeker and Employer UX Directors and the UI / Visual Design Manager to create new products and overhaul existing ones in accordance with new Monster’s brand guidelines while maximizing the user experience. This position reports to the Director of User Experience and is based in Maynard, MA. Essential Functions   Have a passion for improving the user experience. Bring knowledge of user research methods, devise research strategies and create a research plan that addresses needs across seeker and employer products. Oversee all UXR projects from planning to completion: setting priorities, managing budgets and inputs from Product and Program Management. Set high level research goals and lead user research efforts on mission-critical initiatives. Coordinate UXR activities with other key departments, ensuring accurate and highly professional communications and collaboration at all times. Introduce process in a rapidly growing team and fast-paced environment. Help define UX performance metrics (error rate, abandon rate, average number of clicks, perceived ease of use, etc.) for Monster strategic projects in order to track its success. Ensuring UX solutions comply with Monster UX guidelines and principles. Oversee the development of Monster library of design patterns, UX guidelines and best practices to ensure successful knowledge sharing and consistency across seeker and employer-related products. Serve as a steward for team documentation and guidelines. Disseminate best practices across the UX organization. Be a key catalyst in driving a culture of teamwork and innovation centered around the needs of our customers. Managing and mentoring UX researchers; writing performance reviews; determining compensation and career growth. Qualifications   College and/or advanced degree(s) in Computer Science, HCI, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or related field. Must have a minimum of 7 - 10 years of proven, hands-on experience as a lead usability analyst and/or user-experience researcher on significant web-related projects. Thorough knowledge of user research methods, including data analysis, results interpretation, inferential statistics, site visits, interviews, card sorts, focus groups, user flows, user profiling and tasks analysis; has demonstrated ability to adapt the appropriate method to specific design questions. Able to effectively communicate, coordinate and integrate research efforts and data from other research organizations (marketing, data analytics, etc.) to create coherent understanding of our users. Proven experience creating and executing research plans in response to overall product strategy.
