UX Researcher

User Experience Researcher Starting immediately, Monster is looking to hire a User Experience Researcher to help us create engaging and meaningful interactive experiences for our end users globally. We’re looking for an experienced UX Researcher who is excited about conducting user research in our state-of-the-art usability studio at our Maynard location and learn everything about our users: their behaviors, attitudes and emotions. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers and copywriters committed to developing innovative, easy-to-use, best-of-breed new products and overhauling existing ones in accordance with Monster’s new brand guidelines. Please note – this is not a design position. However, the User Experience Researcher is expected to have significant influence on designers and product management to deliver well-designed usable interactive web solutions.   This position reports to the User Experience Research Manager, who will assist you with your career progression, and is based in Maynard, MA.     Essential Functions   Express a passion for improving the user experience. Lead user research efforts on mission-critical web product initiatives. Conduct user research using industry standard practices. Have the ability and desire to employ creative methods to evaluate the user experience of our online business solutions. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Work closely with visual and interaction designers, information architects, and copywriters to develop best-in-class web solutions by representing the user perspective in all phases of design and development. Designing and conducting usability and user-experience research studies – preparing test plans, recruiting participants, facilitating test sessions, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports. Conducting expert reviews of proposed online solutions, leveraging prior experience to accurately predict areas of user difficulty  and frustration.  Developing and prioritizing recommendations based on evidenced-based findings.  Tracking user-experience issues from discovery through resolution.  Presenting research results to product teams and senior management.  Maximizing the use of the Usability Studio. Mentoring and coaching junior-level user-experience researchers.  Acting as the voice of the user during product design sessions, and being a user advocate at all levels of the organization.  Working closely with the User-Experience Research Manager to maximize the institutionalization of user-experience research within the entire organization Qualifications   Articulate in both oral and written communications Manages time well, and is very organized Ability to manage overlapping assignments Works well with others Adept at handling change and shifting priorities Formal, post-graduate training in a Human Factors, Usability, or HCI program is preferred. Equivalent experience and/or advanced degree in a related field will be considered. Must have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of proven, hands-on experience as a lead usability analyst and/or user-experience researcher on significant web-related projects. Expertise with applying Usability and Human Factors methods in a web design environment is required. Experience with other research activities – surveys, user interviews, focus groups, and contextual inquiry – is required. Knowledge of web development methodology and web technologies is a plus.
