VP, Business Planning

VP, Business Planning   Under the general direction of the SVP of Consumer Product, this position will work along side the business to ensure new product business cases are developed properly.  These duties require an understanding of the new product development life cycle: project identification, assisting in business case preparation, development of project charters and detail work plans, gathering of detail functional requirements, assisting with high-level design, collaborating with the other departments and assessing the outcome/performance of new products.   This person will work with resources in the Monster Insights/Business Intelligence groups in a matrix structure - also partnering closely with other major business functions, including Service, Marketing, Sales and IT groups as needed.   Essential Functions:   Lead a strategic planning effort by providing business case foundations for future directions that the company might take. Responsible for the business case development and planning of new products Works closely with Global Consumer Product business functions to understand their business planning needs and opportunities and provides direction, definition, problem solving and support to drive Product improvement and innovation Works closely with business users to analyze current procedures and define/document system requirements in order to design and develop effective business planning systems Develops detailed project plans for new Consumer Products Work closely with the Global Insights team to integrate analytics and research into the business planning and business case development process Develops and delivers effective, concise presentations to business leaders Provide the organization with business case planning tools and expertise necessary to evaluate and design new product/new business model. Provide business planning dashboards to SVP (acquisition and retention performance per channel/country/regions/products) Discover, qualify, and analyze data from various sources to inform business planning decisions and actions. Mine internal data sources for unprecedented insights to aid in business planning. Present findings as coherent recommendations to senior leadership. Support senior leadership in making strategic new Product decisions (evidence-based approach) Qualifications: Experience building team and vision for business case development and validation; six or more years of experience making or advising business decisions. Track record in influencing strategic direction of major company. Strong Financial Acumen and a good understanding of the Business Planning Process Understanding of the interactions between business functions: Marketing, Sales, Service, Analytics Strong team player Strong customer orientation Outstanding communication and presentation skills Creative problem solving skills Outstanding interpersonal skills Drives activities to closure and is very results driven Must be a self-starter and highly motivated Ability to communicate ideas visually with graphics. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. MBA, B.A./B.S. with strong academic record; a master’s degree with a quantitative concentration is a plus. Four or more years of experience using quantitative skills in a business context. Comfort working with deadlines and multiple tasks. Self-motivated and independent; comfort making many decisions without direct supervision. Attentive to detail, and able to make judgments when facing ambiguity. Willingness to work in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will bring some combination of the following: Experience managing staff and advising senior leaders Entrepreneurial spirit Very involved in details- can do attitude Experience leveraging common business analysis into action, (e.g., customer segmentation, opportunity sizing, etc.). Familiarity with the Internet, and with common Internet metrics a plus. Knack for making the best use of irregular data sources.
