Vice President Product Management

VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT The Vice President of Product Management will lead the planning, specification and continued growth of Monster’s core products that currently generate over $1B in sales. This visible role will manage a team of product managers and will serve as the strategic head in designing the ongoing strategies for identifying potential opportunities; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications; production timetables, pricing and time-integrated plans for product introduction and marketing strategies. Essential Functions: Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, pricing and production. Partners closely with engineering and design teams to ensure the timely and focused execution of product development to specification. Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes. Creates, maintains and communicates to internal and external partners product roadmap along with associated projects phases and objectives. Develops and reviews reporting and progress continually through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives – makes course corrections when and where necessary to achieve goals. Obtains product market share by working with sales to develop product sales strategies. Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests. Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses and establishing time schedules with engineering. Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders. Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Qualifications: 8+ years of software, ASP or Internet product management experience with a proven track record of supporting customer-oriented practices that foster customer loyalty and anticipate changes in customer needs.   A thorough understanding of customer markets, effective distribution channels, and the vast interplay of individual and market forces that affect customer behavior. Demonstrated ability to set strategic product direction with recent leadership experience in moving products through development, QA, and launch while resolving issues along the way. Excellent people management skills including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management. 3+ years of working cross-functionally within a mid-size to large software, ASP or Internet organization.   Proven ability to develop sales strategies, techniques and tactics bases on customer feedback and market environment; recent experience in refining competitive pricing structures. BS/BA required; MBA preferred. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position, all candidates must be willing to commute on a daily basis to our office in Maynard, MA.
