Video Manager, Content Operations

Description:
This role will be responsible for the day to day operations of Sony CONNECT’s video content ingestion. This entails being the primary business owner of all Video Content Operations systems including the Content Management System, ingestion systems and all tracking/troubleshooting/QA workflow processes. The Video Manager will be responsible for a team of Coordinators and content assistants.

• Establish and maintain relationships with content providers.
• Close monitoring of all workflow processes and systems with a focus on efficiency improvements and issue resolution.
• Oversee a team of account managers, coordinators and assistants.
• Effectively communicate the status of content to all related parties.
• Management and resolution of any/all content issues.
• Management of assets.
• Provide metrics to Content Operations management as needed using internal reporting tools.
• Utilizing and training users, both internal and external, on Content Management System (CMS).
• Work closely with CONNECT’s dev team regarding all Content Operations systems including but not limited to defining requirements, quality assurance testing and issue reporting/resolution tracking via CONNECT’s internal bug reporting system.


Skills/Requirements:
• Experience working within a digital video distribution environment is required.
• Familiarity with the flow of digital content and digital rights management (DRM) a plus.
• Must have familiarity with content management systems, XML, ftp and Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience managing vendor relationships.
• Must be independent, organized, proactive and reliable with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize and juggle to consistently meet multiple short deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated success in problem-solving, generating solutions, efficiency improvements and managing workload.
• Demonstrated success in managing resources.
• Experience in video encoding/editing using tools such as Final Cut pro and/or Sony Vegas a plus.
