Web/Email Designer

We are looking for a contract web and email designer, with experience designing web pages and email campaigns including graphics edited in Photoshop. Besides HTML and Photoshop, the ideal candidate will have experience working with InDesign and/or QuarkXpress (for taking print jobs to the web) as well as MS-Office, with cross-platform skills on both Windows & Macintosh. Any experience with Flash would be a plus – but is not required. The ideal candidate for this job will also have a portfolio of work samples demonstrating solid conceptual design skills as well as the ability and potential to develop new ideas for emails and for our client's ever evolving web properties. The main focus of this role will be to bring interactive best practices to their weekly email campaigns, online news stories and the overall web site, while working on cross-branding (taking print jobs to the web and bringing branding to life, online).

 Responsibilities:

· Creating emails for email campaigns using HTML and Photoshop

· Templating web landing pages and e-commerce landing pages.

· Working with internal as well as external email partners and vendors.

· Will also be involved in web production work.

Requirements:

· Experience laying out emails that include graphics edited in Photoshop (should have examples you can share).

· Excellent computer skills, with proficiency using Photoshop, InDesign (or QuarkXpress--for taking print jobs to the web) MS-Office Suite, and cross-platform skills working with Windows PCs and Macintosh; Flash is nice to have – but not required. 

· Demonstrated conceptual design skills and the ability to develop new ideas for emails and the web.

· Excellent communication skills and the confidence to communicate across multiple levels of an organization.

· Dependable, organized and able to take the necessary initiative to meet deadlines on a daily basis. 

· Solid presentation skills (for creative reviews and working with the creative director and other team members)

 

Our client would like to see a portfolio that includes both emails and web work. Would prefer at least 5 years of web design-related experience, however, will consider candidates with a strong portfolio and solid email campaign experience. This position has available budget to bring someone in now on a temp-to-perm basis. Hourly compensation for this role will be in the $30-35/hr range (DOE), with the potential for converting to an annual salary in the $55-65K range.
