The company provides customers access to 5 billion searchable documents from more than 35,000 legal, news and business sources.Responsibilities This field sales new business role exists to grow revenue through the sale of LexisNexis products to non-subscribers in the corporate and public markets and must meet or exceed objectives in the areas of incremental sales revenue, customer satisfaction and market penetration Accountabilities include: 1. Securing and closing contracts that are valued from $250,000 to over $1M on a consistent basis 2. Developing and articulating ROI to potential customers 3. Leading discussions and presentations describing the unique features (power positions) of the product over competitors product 4. Providing leadership throughout the entire sales cycle 5. Meet and/or exceed quarterly and annual revenue sales targets as assigned 6. Developing personal sales pipeline within the assigned sales territory through lead generation and cold calling 7. Demonstrating the unique ROI and value of CounselLink through the sales process. 8. Preparing proposals to potential customers and/or answer RFI and RFP documentsQualifications 1. BS/BA or equivalent experience 2. 10 + years of direct sales experience selling software based solutions 3. Prior sales experience in the legal industry especially working with corporate legal department. 4. Excellent presentation and demonstration skills with the ability to lead business product discussions regarding the value of legal spend management solutions 5. Excellent ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with key potential customer(s) in order to advance the sale of the product 6. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with C - level executives and their direct reports 7. Must be a team player within the sales force as well as with cross departmental key resources 8. Good working knowledge of key business drivers impacting C- level decision makers 9. Ability to maintain long sales cycles lasting from 3 months to 1 year or more 10. Understanding and expertise in computer hardware and software including WindowsXP, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Contact Management systems, Sales Force Automation Tools, CRM (Siebel 7.8) and the internet. 11. Proven knowledge and experience using strategic selling (Miller Heiman) 12. Experience working in a highly complex matrixed corporate environment 13. Proven knowledge and understanding of value selling and team selling concepts 14. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills 15. Strong time management, organizational and forecasting skills 16. Strong new business prospecting skills including but not limited to cold calling, networking, negotiation and closingThis position will be required to travel 50-75%.
