The company provides customers access to 5 billion searchable documents from more than 35,000 legal, news and business sources.Responsibilities The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide executive level strategic technology consulting to engineering management and technical consulting to associated department staffs. This position?s scope of influence includes LexisNexis Group (LNG) global development and, on Senior Executive Leadership. The incumbent will report to the GSD Global Architecture and Research team with a strong dotted line reporting relationship to their assigned Solution Line lead. The incumbent will work with Reed Elsevier Technology Services (RETS) and other global RE technical partners regarding new technical concepts and direction. Time commitments: the incumbent is expected to allocate ~ 75% of their time to the assigned Solution Line, and 25% to Global Architecture concerns. This will vary as necessary to meet business needs.Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science 2. Master's degree in computer science preferred. 3. 7-9 years experience in a variety of technical engineering roles. 4. Must have in depth knowledge of relevant LNG systems and data engineering. Relevant systems will be determined by the incumbent?s Solution Line assignment but may include technologies from one or more of: Microsoft .NET, Linux, Unix, Solaris, IBM Z Series (zOS, zLinux). Experience in web application. 5. Advantageous, but not required qualifications include: working experience with LNG?s global markets and their unique product needs, successful presentation of technical material to business stakeholders, and industry experience external to LexisNexis.Accountabilities include:1. Provide high level technology consulting services to senior engineering management. This includes providing input on technical strategy development, tactical translation of the strategy, maximizing understanding of key L-N and global technical capabilities and providing general support and counsel for senior management activities. 2. Work closely with the Global Architecture & Research, and Solution Line management, and technical leads to target and pursue efforts that will maximize reuse and portability of underlying technologies utilized to deliver web products to customers. 3. Identify and drive best coding and development practices across the different engineering organizations. 4. In addition to the management team act as a technical conduit for new ideas to be evaluated and proposed for implementation. 5. Provide support for phase 0 ? 3 (concept through development and release) technical activities including technical assessments, architectural designs, prototyping, and other general consulting as needed. 6. Provide active feedback and updates to the LNG Global Architecture strategy to ensure currency and relevancy of the strategy. 7. Keep executive management informed of technical opportunities both internal and external to LexisNexis. 8. Act as a roving troubleshooter capable of being applied to mission critical issues that arise. This will require the ability to code and have a working understanding of the principal technologies being utilized to deliver web products across different groups. 9. Identify and manage the evaluation of potential technologies that could have a positive impact on the kind or speed with which web products are engineered. 10.To apply, please Click Here
