Commercial Transaction Counsel for Cablevision Systems Corporation

RESPONSIBILTIES:

Cablevision, the provider of cable, entertainment, and communications services to 3 million+ subscribers in NY, NJ and CT, seeks a Senior Counsel with extensive experience in providing legal support for diverse technology and commercial transactions. The candidate will play a major role in negotiating/structuring contracts with commercial partners, advising internal corporate clients on technology-related legal issues, overseeing outside counsel, as well as identifying issues, risks and potential solutions related to telecommunications and cable services.

Qualifications:

· J.D. degree and at least 5-7 years commercial transaction experience in corporate legal department and/or law firm.

· Ability to analyze complex business and legal issues; solid understanding of software and technology licensing as well as patent law.

· Excellent contract drafting skills and ability to skillfully negotiate contract terms.

· Experience in presenting complex legal issues to corporate executives

· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
