The Conference Planner is responsible for securing venues and planning the logistics for West Legalworks seminars. This includes coordinating site selection, negotiating hotel contracts, and overseeing the successful execution of all on-site activities including registration, catering, room set-ups, audio/video, sponsor exhibits, signage, etc. This role reports to the Director, Product Management & Operations. Major Areas of Accountability include: Managing all aspects of event planning from sourcing through post-event follow-up Regular and consistent communication of event status to cross-functional event teams Onsite management of attendee registration, speakers and sponsors, ensuring that all are well informed and offered a high level of service Preparation and management of budgets and reconciliations for assigned conferences and events Post-event reporting, including attendance and cost information Knowledge/Experience: Four year college degree required Three to five years experience in planning conferences required Track record of successfully managing workload of multiple events Experience in the Legal industry preferredSkills: Excellent planning, prioritization and organizational skills Ability to manage all aspects of event sourcing and logistics Proven experience in high-volume, fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Collaborative work style and commitment to getting the job done Excellent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft applications Ability to travelThomson Reuters employees take pride in providing our customers around the world with information that is timely, accurate, unbiased and trusted.
