DESKTOP SUPERVISOR, HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

Title of Position:  Desktop Supervisor, Hardware & Software 

 

THIS POSITION IS IN A LAW FIRM, THUS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A LAW FIRM OR ANY TYPE OF LEGAL EXPOSURE IS HIGHLY DESIRED!!!

 

Development Tools and Platforms
-Microsoft Office XP
-Microsoft Office Suite Package – word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ticketing system, imaging system (Norton Ghost).

 -Cisco Network (must have basic network concepts)

- LaserJet printers in a network environment. 



Desired – preferably 2, 3, to 4+years of the following skills

Blackberry support

Dell hardware

Citrix Metaframe experience (this is the environment)

Video Conference Equipment set up

 

Preferred

Certifications A+ and Network+ are a plus.

Legal/Service industry environment background preferred.

 

 

Technical Skill/Responsibilities
-Oversees day-to-day operations and supervise staff of 7 hardware members, 6 PC Technicians, and 1 Cisco Phone Administrator (14 total) from various McCarter offices along the east coast. Manage firms Network(s) and Datacenter.

-Maintain all desktop hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, OS, desktop software)

-Manage ticketing calls timely and effectively

-Responsible for working with Director on yearly computer and printer upgrade projects; overseeing the deployment of new and old PCs and laptops.  Handling details of shipments being delivered or pickup of old equipment with vendors while maintaining current inventory.

-Responsible for overseeing work on installing, and configuring laser printers, computer images using Symantec Ghost and/or equivalent product.

-Responsible for overseeing and maintaining current hardware Inventory using Altiris and/or HelpMaster Pro ticketing system, as well as providing support for desktops on multiple operating systems, including MAC.

-Oversee tickets escalated to the Hardware Group are timely met and handled by technicians based on terms of the Service Level Agreement.

-Responsible for providing resources to travel to remote offices and provide onsite PC/desktop support on a as need basis.

-Responsible for managing deployment of blackberry and other wireless devices.

-Review and implement procedures with Litigation Support on when Hardware resources can be used when supporting War Room and Trial case setups.

-Liaison between Hardware and internal IT group when working on any special projects that might come up or as assigned based on client needs.

-Experience on handling PC, Laptops with Dell hardware preferred and MAC exposure as well as experience with details of installing and swapping out parts for PCs, Desktops, Laptops and Printers.

 

Education & Experience

- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a technical education or diploma in Computer Technician or Computer Support from a certified school or institution is required with at least 4 – 7 years of hands on experience required in a professional environment as a full-time permanent Hardware/PC Technician, Sr. Level Helpdesk person and/or Supervisor. 

- Experience being a hands on supervisor with the ability to work with and mentor and train staff on Windows desktop products.

 

Non-Technical Responsibilities
-Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills are essential.

 

Must pass background check.
