Department Supervisor
Zucker, Goldberg, and Ackerman, LLP, seeks a department supervisor to join its management team. If you are interested in helping a world-class group of employees develop and grow to the next level, this position may be the perfect fit for you. ZGA is a law firm specializing in Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Title Work and Evictions and Litigation. This position requires a background in any of these areas, along with excellent supervisory/ team motivation skills, advanced workflow management skills, and the willingness and ability to learn about these areas of law. An understanding of manufacturing/ workflow processes is a key factor of this position, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual. Department Supervisor- Detailed Description
Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures which support total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
Responsible for maintaining the high ZGA quality standards. To accomplish this objective, continually educates all employees concerning our philosophy, workflow, and client needs. Informs employees of problems found in audits and/or file reviews. Additionally, conducts a proper follow-up on all client complaints or concerns; instructs employees on proper procedures and coordinates training where necessary.
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the workflow of a high volume of files throughout department. Accomplishes this by keeping up to date on all client needs and work volume within specific areas of department. Takes necessary steps to ensure that the area has the appropriate staffing levels, including during popular vacation times; coordinates cross-training initiatives within department and with other supervisors and ensures that proper back-up and contingency plans are in place.
Responsible for maintaining a high level of employee morale within the department. To accomplish this, properly orients all new employees and follows up on that orientation. Keeps employees informed about changes in Firm policy, and encourages a one-to-one relationship with everyone. Encourages a team effort attitude and utilizes progressive discipline as needed to maintain Firm policy and a positive, productive attitude within the department.
Directly supervises 5-10 employees, including paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include team motivation; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.
This is an intermediate level management position and is fully accountable for the results of the group’s activities and performance.
