Desktop Support Specialist

 

The Desktop Support Specialist will be the “go to” person in solving any technical issues that arise at Update’s corporate headquarters.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  Support for several hundred users in a predominately Microsoft Windows environment

·  Solve network connectivity problems with TCP/IP protocols

·  Troubleshoot equipment including printers, desktops, terminals, and handheld devices (networked and local)

 

Skills

·  Excellent customer service skills

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications

·  Advanced knowledge of remote access applications

·  Proven computer hardware troubleshooting ability

·  Applications supported include Outlook, Office 2007 and PDA devices (Blackberry & Treo)

 

Requirements

·  3-5  years of Desktop Support experience

·  3-5  years experience with Windows XP operating system and knowledge of Vista

·  Assemble desktop stations

·  Advanced knowledge of hardware, accessories and networking

·  Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS

·  MS Certification a plus

·  Available for weekend and/or night work as needed
