Location: US-NY-New York CityYour location:home   »  find a job   »  advanced search   »  job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend Help Desk Specialist-  Responsibilities include support and operation of the Firm's IT Help Desk function: providing first level technical support and guidance to users of the Firm's computer and telephone systems; dispatching appropriate IT personnel as needed; following up to ensure the prompt resolution of operating problems; providing direct user support to all Firm personnel by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting and resolving problems for all Firm-supported software and hardware; assisting with the Help Desk Beeper/weekend/holiday coverage program; continually maintaining and expanding strong working knowledge of current and future Firm-supported technologies to provide technically accurate solutions to end-users; evaluating and reporting trends in system errors and software/hardware malfunctions. Assists with the maintenance of Firm templates and document assembly form documents; establishes and maintains contact with internal users in all offices to ensure they are making effective use of all form documents. Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.Position requires an Associate's Degree or equivalent, 2-3 years of related experience, thorough working knowledge of PC software such as Windows, DOS, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite of products, graphics, databases (flat and relational), electronic mail, calendaring, document management systems and general office productivity tools in a Windows environment. Working knowledge of Office 97 Suite of products, as well as PC and printer hardware components and operating systems. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and monitor activities and resources, and effectively communicate requirements and results. Exceptional customer service and telephone skills essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, high energy, creativity and initiative imperative.
