Legal Secretary (IP/Trademark)

 

Position Summary

The IP/Trademark Legal Secretary will provide legal secretarial support to the IP/Trademark group.

 

Job Duties

· Process documents for foreign trademark renewals and legalization

· Handle US Trademark filings and associated correspondence from the PTO

· Maintain docket and calendar entries for attorneys, IP coordinator and employees in the IP/Trademark group

· Print docket daily and pull associated files

· Research contact information for trademark licensing matters

· Perform online trademark searches for preliminary screening

· Perform various secretarial tasks for attorneys and IP Coordinator

 

Knowledge and Skills

· Excellent understanding of Word, Excel, CPI and Outlook

· Solid understanding of substantive and procedural aspects of US and foreign intellectual property practice

· Superb listening, verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Highly detail and deadline oriented

· Ability to address rapidly changing priorities

 

Education and Experience

· College degree in related disciple preferred

· 1-2 years legal experience in Trademark/IP field required
