IT Business Specialist
Stradley Ronon, a 190-lawyer, multi-office firm is looking for an experienced IT specialist who can link practice group needs to law firm technology and manage the process of delivering solutions. If you understand both technology and business challenges and can translate business requirements into technical system requirements; if you can identify areas where technology can improve work processes, analyze those areas and create more efficient ways of delivering those processes; if you can customize new or existing technologies to meet the varied and specific needs of lawyers, staff and clients; if you can manage multiple complex projects from beginning to end, then we have the job for you! Our Practice and Support Group, part of our 17-person IT Department, seeks a second Business Specialist to collaborate with lawyers and administration to find technology solutions that address their business needs. These may include a better way of presenting a case at trial; developing a new attorney evaluation methodology; customizing document assembly software for a particular practice group; training timekeepers to make better use of existing technology tools – or to use those tools in novel ways; developing best practices for electronic filing; introducing document collaboration software, project management and the like. Qualifications include: A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a business analyst and 2 years’ senior project management experience following a recognized methodology. Must have experience managing software implementations and proven expertise with Microsoft Office. Experience with Summation, CRM, Workshare, Kronos, Legal55, D3, Purchasing Plus, Elite, InterAction, MailSite, and technologies that push and pull data is important. Prior consulting experience a definite plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. S/he will speak and write well, will be client-centered, business-aware and proactive in his/her approach to the job, and will be able to juggle many balls simultaneously. S/he will be able to manage The Big Picture while simultaneously paying attention to the details and executing at an individual level. S/he will be flexible and results-oriented, demonstrate good judgment, exhibit tremendous persistance and have a sense of humor. S/he will be a deft and creative problem solver.
