Manager, Labor Relations

Warner Bros. Studio Facilities is one of the foremost motion picture and television production and post-production operations in the world.  The 110-acre Burbank lot and the 32-acre Ranch facility are home to a complete range of production-related services, including 34 soundstages, 12 re-recording stages, three automated dialogue replacement (ADR) stages, one scoring stage, one Foley stage and over 175 editing rooms, which handle digital and analogue audio editing.

Summary of the position:

Investigates reports of employee misconduct, including allegations of harassment and discrimination; and implements appropriate corrective action, including employee discipline.  Investigates and resolves complaints/grievances from employees and union business representatives.  Documents and takes notes in meetings regarding disciplinary matters and other issues where a detailed record is required.  Composes written disciplinary counselings.  Assists the SVP, Labor Relations in negotiating labor agreements.  Researches DLSE DSLE (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) wage claims.  Handles and/or assists with special projects.

 

Requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years experience in Labor Relations/Human Resources. Previous entertainment background or knowledge of entertainment industry collective bargaining agreements highly desired

Bachelor’s degree required and HR certification or designation a plus. Strong employee investigation skills and the ability to read and interpret union contracts and documents.

Knowledge of arbitration and grievance procedures sufficient to administer labor agreements. Knowledge of federal and state labor laws to ensure compliance with regulations when administering collective bargaining agreements. Strong analytical and excellent writing skills.
