Quantitative Developer/Analyst

A globally known asset management firm in Boston is looking for a Quantitative Developer/Analyst to join their IT department within the Investment Management team. The research and models team within the firm's IT department is chartered to implement and maintain quantitative models which drive the investment processes across all asset classes, including equity, fixed income and asset allocation. The team is seeking a developer with strong analytical skills to implement quantitative models and to support portfolio construction/optimization applications. Major responsibilities:• Working closely with research analysts and portfolio managers to implement stock selection models into production. • As a developer and an application expert, provide support of equity portfolio construction systems including optimization and what-if quantitative analysis to portfolio managers located at major financial centers around the world. • Advocate business requirements based on portfolio management group's needs and assist in defining enhancements, design, development and support of various investment systems.Who we're looking forDesired Skills/Experience:•  Extensive experience working with statistical packages like Matlab or SAS.•  BS in Math, Physics, Engineering, Finance, or computer science. CFA candidate preferred.•  3+ years experience developing applications in the financial/engineering industry using a combination of the following technologies: C/C++, Java, Visual Basic and RDBMS (Sybase/Oracle). •  Experience in the use of Market data /investment management applications such as but not limited to Factset, Barra, and Bloomberg. •  Have an understanding of the descriptive data components of Equity Securities and Market Indices as well as knowledge of investments and portfolio management techniques •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
