Reference Librarian

Law firm which employs over 500 attorneys seeks a reference librarian to work in its New Orleans office. This position will require attention to detail, organizational as well as analytical skills.

  The selected candidate will be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation by the Director. Essential duties will include research and reference work for the New Orleans, Mandeville, and Baton Rouge offices as well as the Jackson, Mississippi office; conduct seminars and orientation classes, evaluate current and future resources; and maintain upkeep of Louisiana offices.

Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s degree required

·  1-3 years law firm or legal environment required

·  Ability to effectively use Lexis, Westlaw and other online databases

·  Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with lawyers

·  Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort
