Job Description:
The Chicago office is seeking a Legal Assistant for its Bankruptcy practice. Responsibilities include: drafting Chapter 11 pleadings, petitions and schedules; preparing Proofs of Claim, closing books for bankruptcy cases and debt trades, Notices of Transfer, corporate resolutions, and UCC forms; filing documents with bankruptcy courts, preparing for and attending court hearings; and performing electronic legal research. This position may be responsible for coordination and participation in paralegal and/or attorney training.
The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years of litigation or bankruptcy experience with advanced knowledge of technologies relevant to practice. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates will have proven ability to supervise and develop a team of people, outstanding organizational and communication skills, and multi-tasking abilities. Travel and overtime may be required.
