Altria Client Services is seeking a Sr. Legal Analyst in the Law Department based in Washington DC. Job ScopeProvides support to attorneys supporting Litigations and relevant business clients, including working with business clients to develop business proposals for legal review, preparing presentations, serving as a member of cross-functional legal and business teams, supporting Litigation training, researching issues, drafting and reviewing business documents and communications, and otherwise assisting in providing legal support to the business in support of company programs.Position Specific DutiesDevelops close familiarity with Litigation program materials, and business processes used in the Litigation area and, with minimal supervision, identifies key non-legal issues presented by business proposals to both clients and attorneys.Reviews and analyzes complex business documents, including training materials, internal presentations, trade program materials and communications, market information, external communications, and follows up with clients as appropriate.Provides consultation to business clients on matters such as formulating, interpreting and complying with company principles and policies related to Litigaion area.Identifies, obtains and organizes factual information needed by attorneys and clients relative to legal and business issues and performs research across a spectrum of complexity, including analyzing and summarizing such research for efficient use by attorneys and clients. Independently reviews and responds to clients on non-legal matters with minimal supervision.Communicates Law Department position on legal matters after attorney review.QualificationsExperience/SkillsBachelor's degree required. 5+ years of previous relevant legal work experience, in house or at a law firm.Know and apply advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of legal analysis.Ability to think critically about the interplay between business proposals and existing legal and business infrastructure.Ability to use independent discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance that are often cross-functional in nature.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Advanced computer skills, particularly with Excel and Powerpoint.Ability to interact at all levels within and outside of the company.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to work independently; make decisions in management s absence.To apply for this position, please click here
