The company provides customers access to 5 billion searchable documents from more than 35,000 legal, news and business sources.Responsibilities Manages the development of winning, formal sales proposals for the government market including the writing of proposal content as well as coordinating the input of others on the response team (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Legal). Proposals position LexisNexis as the preferred provider of information, technology, consulting and analytical solutions. Work covers Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and similar requests. The Senior Proposal Writer completes other customer documentation requirements as needed.ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Works with proposal response team to develop persuasive proposals communicating LexisNexis solutions responsive to RFP requirements2. Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, reviews, approvals and signatures3. Manages the proposal production process4. Maintains a strong working knowledge of LexisNexis products and services, business strategies, plans and competition5. Composes clear, concise answers to customer inquiries or requests for clarification6. Assists sales team with presentation development as requested7. Contributes to proposal database repository including frequently asked questions, templates and examples, used by other proposal writers8. Evaluates and recommends process improvements9. Mentors other proposal writers10. Oversees customer debriefing process11. Tracks proposal and customer debrief activity and generates quarterly reports for management12. All other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications 1. Bachelors level degree in a related subject area preferred (e.g. Communications, English, Business, Journalism)2. 5-7 years related experience; minimum 3 years proposal writing experience (experience in technical and/or government proposal writing a plus)3. Effective writing, editing and business communication skills4. Advanced word processing knowledge5. Strong project management skills6. Attention to detail and follow-up skills essential7. Excellent teaming skills8. Ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality work9. Previous LexisNexis experience a plusDepending on the experience level of the candidate, this position may be filled as a Proposal Writer.
