The company provides customers access to 5 billion searchable documents from more than 35,000 legal, news and business sources.Responsibilities The Senior Quality Analyst is responsible for the planning, execution, and results reporting for all tests to ensure that our products and services meet and exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers. As a member of the QA team, the Quality Analyst has to be aware of both the task at hand as well as the possible cross-implications to systems and processes to mitigate risks and maximize quality. The ability to influence the evolution of our products, services, and processes is welcomed and encouraged. This position could evolve into leadership responsibilities for the right candidate.Qualifications Responsibilities 1. Plan and execute both manual and automated testing according to standards and guidelines. 2. Analyze requirements and develop test cases to facilitate testing. Update existing manual and automated test cases. 3. Identify and recommend improvements to quality review processes, business products and services, particularly those that enhance customer satisfaction, minimize business risk, and maximize efficiency. 4. Document and track defects through identification, resolution and re-testing. 5. Maintain review procedures and documentation for both manual and automated tests. 6. Communicate with other departments to gather requirements, obtain status of key elements for review processes and report findings / gaps requiring attention. 7. Participate in product planning and management review meetings representing the quality assurance perspective to product release planning. 8. Act as a mentor. Qualifications 1. Minimum 6 years experience with various types of testing, especially functionality, regression, and usability testing. Testing of .NET and VB applications and databases a significant plus. 2. Minimum 6 years experience with test case development, documentation, and execution. 3. Experience with automation test tools, especially QuickTest, Mercury, etc. 4. Strong experience with SQL databases and SQL pro. 5. Experience with common Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. 6. Experience utilizing bug tracking software/documentation to include sufficient explanation/documentation to enable the efficient recreation and resolution of issues. Especially Mercury Test Director/Quality Center and Microsoft Team Systems. 7. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to detect spelling and grammar errors. 8. Detail oriented, adept at problem solving, customer focused, analytical, thorough, energetic, inquisitive, self-motivated, organized, and methodical.Responsibilities for this position include writing code and analyzing and testing project deliverables throughout the development life cycle to ensure that business and technical requirements are being met. This may include, but may not be limited to: traceability, defect identification, performance, capacity, security, and recovery.
