POSITION PROFILE The Customer Service Technician is an entry-level position designed to prepare employee for a career in servicing and repairing office equipment at customer locations usually within a specific geographic area. This role entails extensive classroom and on-the-job training. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Meets/exceeds expectations on all assignments. Develops skills to manage territory, inventory and customer relationships. Meets appropriate productivity standards relative to assigned products and territory as outlined by manager. Classroom Training Attends and satisfactorily completes assigned training. Under close supervision of Field Service Manager or Service Manager, follows company training programs, policies, procedures and guidelines. Demonstrates appropriate technical skills for the repair and servicing of designated equipment including installation and customer training. On-the-job Training Receives direction and performs assignments relative to the servicing and repair of office equipment including, but not limited to, copiers and facsimile machines at customer locations and/or in shop facility. Installs all manufacturer-mandated equipment modifications and hardware/software up-dates on assigned equipment. Maintains and manages own parts inventory. Responsible for servicing and safekeeping of assigned company property. Completes all required administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Complies will all company policies. Customer Service Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and represents IKON in a professional manner. Understands and utilizes problem escalation procedure. Maintains a productive, professional relationship with all IKON personnel. Is a positive and contributing team member. Responsible for maintaining a "car stock" inventory with a value of $1,000 to $4,000. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) Requires basic technical knowledge (mechanics, electrical circuitry, electronics and basic computer literacy) typically gained through completion of 2 years of technical school and less than 1 year of related experience. Attends scheduled training/instruction to acquire/increase working knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, application of service aids and a basic diagnostics technique. Requires a valid state driver?s license and minimum level of auto insurance coverage per IKON Office Solutions policy for positions entailing extensive use of personal car while on company business.
