Technology Architect

Unified Technical, Inc. has an opening for a Technology Architect with a Fortune 500 company in downtown Los Angeles, CA.  This is a full time position with full benefits, 401K and bonus.

Job Summary: 
This person will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment introducing leading-edge technologies to maintain and grow a global infrastructure based on Microsoft and Intel technologies. This position reports to the Associate Director, IS Operations and is a senior technical role acting as the highest technical authority in IS with regard to network infrastructure, storage area networks and operating systems. 

Three distinct types of work are performed in this role: (1) strategic planning, (2) project based technology implementation and (3) resolving escalated problems.  Create and keep up to date the IS Strategic Plan that is reflective of the company's business aims.  Provide technical advice and guidance to other IS Operations engineers and analysts.  Act as implementation consultant or manager as required from time to time.  Assure adherence to industry standards (ITIL based).  Keep abreast of technology trends in all aspects of network infrastructure.  Create and ensure adherence to scheduled processing calendars for periodic maintenance.  Set standards for procedures and documentation for all aspects of the network infrastructure. 

Qualifications: 
To fulfill these responsibilities it is expected that the individual will have the following range and depth of knowledge.

The following should be understood to expert level:
** Networking principles, design and configuration (particularly TCP/IP and SNMP compliant data acquisition).
** Excellent understanding of storage array technologies and recovery/business continuance practices.
** Microsoft Windows2003 Server and networking
** IBM Blade Center technology
** EMC SAN/NAS technology
** Falconstor SAN/NAS technology
** Cisco Network technology
** AT&T MPLS and AVTS WAN technologies
** CITRIX Presentation Server and VPN tunneled WAN technologies
** VOIP technologies in general ** not vendor specific
** Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DFS.

The following should be understood to excellent working level:
** Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007, including clustering and archiving
** Network FAX support based on Captaris RightFAX
** Network print services.

Education/Experience: 
At least 10 years of professional experience and a bachelor's degree.  Cisco and Microsoft certifications preferred.  Ability to work in a production environment under demanding circumstances.  Excellent troubleshooting skills working with users of varying skills and located worldwide.  Must be able to deliver high quality work within agreed deadlines.  Ability to apply existing skills, knowledge and techniques to new circumstances.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder local in Southern CA for an in-person interivew only. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
