Title Examiner

Atlanta Law Firm is seeking an experienced Title Examiner.  The Title Examiner will search real estate records, examine titles, or summarize pertinent legal details for a variety of purposes.  The Title Examiner may compile lists of mortgages, contracts and other instruments pertaining to titles by searching public and private records. 

 

Responsibilities: Examine titles ranging in complexity to determine status of title or establish chain of title; Reviewing documents abstracted from name and property searches, determining the effect of each on title and writing a title reports;Verifying vesting and encumbrances to title; Reviewing typed reports and addendums for accuracy and forwarding to Legal Staff



Successful Candidate shall have: High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred;3-5+ years of experience as a title examiner;Ability to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner; Working knowledge of legal documents affecting title to real property and methods by which they are recorded, liens, encumbrances and circumstances that affect title to real property; Knowledge of local filing requirements, recording fees, and abstracting procedures; Knowledge of surveys and plotting metes and bounds; Familiarity with abstracts, examinations, document retrieval, surveys, plat maps, tax data, etc.; PC proficiency; Microsoft Office; Internet Explorer and Title Software; Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and tasks requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy; Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing; Ability to work both independently and contribute in every aspect to a team environment
