Job Description
The Senior Web Systems Administrator is responsible for managing Web Server environment which includes IIS farms and SharePoint installations. This includes configuration and day-to-day monitoring, keeping up with the technological changes/upgrades, Optimizing server setups to improve predictability and performance. Perform any other duties as required by the firm.
Duties and Accountabilities: Configuration, setup and management of IIS 6.0 based web servers, working with a variety of .Net Frameworks (1.1, 2.0 & 3.0) and related development tools. Install, configure and manage SharePoint Server environment (server 2007). Establish procedures to ensure Web Server performance, security, backups, and Disaster Recovery procedures. Maintain a working knowledge of programming techniques, including; architecture, connectivity, programming languages and tools which have been adopted as the standards. Knowledge of C#/.NET database integration methods essential. Interface with legal and administrative staff as well as the application development teams to understand web server needs and assess, coordinate, and oversee software initiatives. Work with third party vendors to assess, implement, and customize Web application installations to meet business requirements. Provides 24x7 Web and SharePoint Server farm support for critical applications.
Qualifications: 5+ years supporting Web Applications in an MS environment (Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, IIS 6.0, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2000 and 2005). Any experience with IIS 7.0 a definite plus Experience in installing, configuring and managing IIS Web Server farm(s) using Load Balancers. .NET application installation and configuration. This includes Framework versions 1.1, 2.0 & 3.0. MS Office 2003 and Office 2007 Share Point integration expertise, Active Directory expertise, MS .NET platform familiarity. Experience in implementing Load Balancers for IIS and SharePoint server farms. Experience in troubleshooting performance, security, scalability issues in regards to IIS/Web and SharePoint applications. Knowledge of database systems; database design, and database base implementation / normalization strategies a definite plus. Experience in Database Administration for SQL Server 2000 (2005 a plus) Proven track record of work involving both custom application development and integration of off-the-shelf & Third Party solutions. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to facilitate work efforts. Ability to manage project commitments to ensure that the project comes in on time and within budget. BS Degree a must, graduate degree a plus. Flexible schedule; Ability to travel domestically and overseas on a limited basis.
