ABOUT THE POSITION:

 

Applied Strategies is looking for an experienced software engineer who will work with consultants and quantitative modeling experts to gather requirements and design applications that meet these requirements, plan the implementation, and lead a team of software engineers through the implementation of time-critical projects.

 

As a member of the Applied Strategies team, the candidate would be uniquely positioned to expand his/her skills through personal interactions with experts in a variety of fields. Furthermore, the candidate would be encouraged to continually expand his/her software engineering skills and to help shape the growth of the engineering team as a whole. Engineers with a desire to make a difference, a thirst for knowledge, and a strong drive to understand the "why", as well as the "how", are encouraged to apply.

 

Responsibilities:

  Propose solutions that adequately address the needs of clients Lead the planning, design, and implementation of software applications for the .NET platform Lead efforts to improve the development process Establish clear pathways of communication between consultants and engineers Demonstrate leadership Lead regular code reviews and design reviews

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  4-6 years experience in application development B.S. in Computer Science or related field of engineering Demonstrated experience architecting .NET applications Expert knowledge of C# and the .NET platform Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases Excellent knowledge of multi-layered/tiered architectures Demonstrated experience managing the implementation of projects, including meeting critical deadlines Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture Strong knowledge of design patterns Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Additional Desired Skills & Experience:

  Experience managing projects in a consulting environment Experience establishing engineering processes Knowledge of Windows networking best-practices and IT-related considerations Experience working in a role interfacing with clients Experience using Test Driven Development Knowledge of Software Quality Engineering Expertise in Domain Driven Design Knowledge of Operations Research, Decision Analysis, and Simulation algorithms Experience designing and implementing quantitative models Strong background in mathematics
