Please visit our website at www.executiveboard.com for more information.  CEB is an EOE. Backup/Storage Engineer  The Backup/Storage Engineer is one of the key members responsible for the operations/upkeep of the Storage and Backup infrastructure environment; EMC storage, magnetic tape, disk staging, Snapshot technology. The successful candidate will work closely with Storage Engineers on architecting new implementations as well as maintaining the current environment. The successful candidate is also responsible for implementing and guaranteeing process and systems are in place to deliver Backup / restore success rate and storage uptime of 99%.  The Backup/Storage Engineer will play an integral role in ensuring CEB's "last line of defense" is constantly at an optimal state and always ready to recover client data in the event of a disaster in contracted RPO / RTO SLA's.  Specifically the Backup/Storage Engineer will be responsible for:• Proactively maintaining a storage environment • Implement and audit Backup polices, both new and current, to ensure critical data is secure • Ensure recovery of client data meets or exceeds defined SLA's • Maintain Snapshot scheduling / execution / monitoring •   Assist DBA's with daily Backup operations including; RMAN, dumps, NDMP, Snaps • Offsite data replication scheduling and operation • Data growth rate calculations for short and long term planning • Investigate / test / recommend new technologies to ultimately lower RPO and RTO, including but not limited to: •  CDP, Data de-duplication, SQL Snaps, VTL •  Implement automated controls around Disaster Recovery/Storage validation •  Enterprise level tape library(s) management and maintenance •  Failure simulation and recovery testing •  Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) execution testing and document upkeep •  Failure simulation and recovery testing •  Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) execution testing and document upkeep  PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS•  3+ years acting in a DR(Disaster Recovery) or BC (Business Continuity) role •  5+ years of IT experience •  CommVault experience is a must; Experience installing CommVault  and BackupExec experience is highly desired•  Experience with enterprise class tape libraries •  Data de-duplication and VTL experience •  Familiarity with Fiber based networks as well as NAS / DAS •  Previous experience working in hi-tech, fast paced environments •  Team player with strong attention to detail •  Mid level Windows 2003 experience •  Demonstrated experience working with a broad range of issues simultaneously and following them through to completion •  Ability to identify, prioritize and escalate issues as needed •  Bachelors Degree or related experience  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS•  Industry standards certification including: DRII / ITIL / other •  Experience performing a centralized Backup function for remote sites located around the world — setting the Backup schedule, monitoring daily execution, troubleshooting/resolving issues, and standardizing the Backup process.•  DNS / VPN experience
