COMM - Junior Test Analyst Project DescriptionThe project is a re-design of the client’s flagship public website that delivers real-time ratings and research to its customers, and supports the client’s subscription research business. The project is an effort to enhance user experience of the website with performance improvement and new functionalities. The web application is supported by MS SQL Server and Endeca search engine on the back-end. The front-end is built with MS Sharepoint Services, .Net technologies, Javasript and other 3rd party tools. The development of the website is a joint effort between the New York and off-shore Shenzhen Development Teams. The Shenzhen QA Team in China is responsible for testing the new functionalities while the existing web application QA Team in New York, which includes India, will be responsible for testing the existing web site functionalities.The CGI QA Team is responsible for making recommendations on QA process, strategy and test automation tool, implementing the recommendations, providing various levels of test supports and collaborating with the Strategy and Development teams in New York to define and prepare test cases for the project. The project follows principles adopted from the Agile Methodology.Position Description:The Junior Test Analyst will be working closely with the client’s business users, developers and QA analysts (both on-site and off-shore) to perform and support various levels of testing throughout the project. The primary responsibilities are as follow:•Assist Senior Test Analyst in creating and maintaining Test Scripts based on Test Cases identified.•Assist in Test Analysis as needed.•Perform Test Execution.•Log and retest defects.Must Have Requirements:•Have the ability and willingness to understand and learn new business concepts, testing knowledge and SDLC methodology quickly.•Have the ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities promptly.•Have a can-do attitude and able to work under deadline pressure•A strong team player who respects and works well with the internal CGI team members, clients and 3rd vendors.•Good verbal and written communication skills.•Good interpersonal skills.•Good analytical and organization skills.•Attention to details.•Experience in MS Word, Excels and Web browsers (IE and Firefox).•Work effectively and independently with minimum supervision.Nice to Have Requirements:•Automated Testing experience a plus.•Knowledge or experience in SDLC a plus.•Database / SQL knowledge a plus.•SOA / Web Services knowledge a plus.
