The American Diabetes Association – Maryland Affiliate is currently seeking a part-time contractual Diabetes Educator. The Diabetes Educator would work an average of 20 hours per week teaching workshop modules for Project Power and other diabetes management programs as needed. They would promote and maintain health through education for persons living with diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes. They would also design and instruct diabetes courses for community outreach programs as needed. The Diabetes Educator will report to the Associate Director of Programs and Advocacy.


* A Registered Nurse or Dietician
* Background in diabetes care, either recognized as a Certified Diabetes Educator by the ADA, or working towards certification
* Minimum two years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting with experience working with at-risk populations
* Experience working with the elderly, with faith-based programs and in program management preferred
* Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
* Must have own transportation and willingness to travel in-state
* Highly organized, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
* Bilingual (Spanish English) a plus
