Consultant/Senior Consultant (Process Improvement, Operational Excellence)

We are seeking strategic thinkers who can focus on innovation and continuous improvement in a fast paced, dynamic environment and who are comfortable traveling (up to 80%).This position requires travel to our client’s location; it is not necessary to relocate.

Responsibilities:
·Support our clients in achieving their tactical & strategic goals by leading cross-functional client teams through
operational improvement initiatives resulting in operations and efficiency improvement. Interact with all levels of the client’s organization, such as equipment engineers, process engineers, management and manufacturing. Developing new processes, improve cycle time, tool availability, cost reduction, process quality, yield, throughput, and procedures. Analyze and document results. Assist in the evaluation of process and material changes that will aid in reducing costs and improving yield and throughput.
· Actively participate in the development of product roadmaps, especially with regards to manufacturing release, transition to manufacturing and/or outsource partner(s); management of product ECO/ECNs and management of forecast-based purchasing & inventory management, etc.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you must possess the following:
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an operations and or operations improvement role.
· Experience developing and improving business processes to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives within budgetary targets.
· Knowledge of operations excellence concepts and tools, such as value stream mapping, business process redesign, lean, six sigma, modeling and simulation, cycle-time reduction, facility layout design, etc.
· An understanding of one or more of the following: manufacturing, quality, operations, MRP, advanced planning and scheduling, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, organizational design, or operational IT packages (ERP, LIMS, Doc. Management, etc.).
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of Excel and Access. BS/MS degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent, or an MBA degree with a science/engineering undergraduate degree preferred.
The following are desired but not required:
· Industry certifications, such as a Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt, APICS.
· Bi-lingual (Spanish or other foreign language).
· Familiarity with modeling and simulation software, statistical analysis software
