Consulting Actuary

The Insurance & Claims Services Practice of Navigant Consulting provides consulting services for financial services companies, insurance and reinsurance companies, and corporations with complex claims.  We are currently seeking experienced actuaries  to be located in Chicago or surrounding areas.  We are looking for candidates with a mix of practical business experience, technical skills, and communication skills, to participate on and manage engagements that may not be traditional actuarial consulting engagements, but nonetheless draw upon the skills developed as an actuary.  The actuary filling this position will assist in the growth of our Actuarial Practice and will also work on other lines of business and assignments as needs arise. Required Skills and Qualifications· FCAS, ACAS, or Multiple Exams Completed · 2-10 years of actuarial experience, ideally including experience with insurance and reinsurance related client projects;· Previous consulting experience a plus· Experience in working with non-actuarial professionals (including accounting, claims, underwriting, legal, others);· Strong communication skills, both written and oral;· Strong technical experience, including proficiency with typical Microsoft Office products;· Ability to adapt unique situations and projects;· Ability to meet project deadlines; and· Willingness to travel as required. Responsibilities Involved in all aspects of client projects including marketing, proposals, engagement management, project completion and delivery, billing, and collecting; Serve as an internal resource to other Navigant Consulting practice areas in matters with actuarial issues; Recruit and contribute to the building of the actuarial practice within Navigant Consulting Supervise staff (including administrative staff), as needed; and Present/speak at industry seminars, as warranted.The company offers competitive compensation packages including an incentive compensation plan, comprehensive medical/dental/life insurance, 401(k) and employee stock purchase plans.  To apply, visit www.navigantconsulting.com EOE M/F/D/V Company: Navigant Consulting, Inc.
