Energy Analyst

Z, INC. supports the Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration’s Oil and Gas Programs to collect, evaluate, assemble, analyze, and disseminate information on petroleum energy resource reserves, production, demand, technology, and related economic and statistical information.  Z, INC. conducts several weekly, monthly, and annual petroleum supply surveys of petroleum refinery operations, inventory levels, transportation, and imports of selected petroleum products.  The information is released in a number of publications available at www.eia.doe.gov.  The survey forms are being revised to reflect current industry trends and improve data quality. One of our 2008 efforts is to identify and create a database of all ethanol blending facilities in the United States.

 

Z, INC. is looking for Energy Analysts to join a team of about 30 staff members responsible for collecting, editing, validating, and analyzing weekly, monthly, and annual petroleum data.  These persons will focus on the new ethanol-related requirements, and assist in the investigation of industry trends and reporting practices throughout the petroleum supply chain from refinery or import to the marketplace.

 

Candidates must have bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, or physical science; minimum two years of statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and possess strong oral and written communication skills.  Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office tools including Word, and Excel is required.  Knowledge of petroleum industry is highly desirable.  DC location.
