 Role Purpose

The Exploration Service Analysts form the core of the team which is responsible for delivering the Exploration Service, which was launched in 2007.

 

The primary focus of this role will be in building relationships with existing clients and target clients in the Americas region which have the largest number of clients for this product.  To be able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and expertise to clients, an ongoing involvement in the writing of  analysis for the Exploration Service will also be crucial.

 Main Responsibilities

 

Exploration Service Business Development and Training (approx. 50% of role)

· Provide Exploration Service product support and training for internal and external clients

· Work with Sales and Account Management & Marketing teams in specific Business Development efforts

· Build Exploration Service user networks in Houston and other parts of the Americas, and keep core users abreast of developments in the both delivery and content of the product

· Collate feedback from clients on both content and delivery, and ensure that this is captured in the product

· Attend and present at North American events where the Exploration Service is being promoted

 

Production, Maintenance and Support of Exploration Service  (ongoing approx. 30% of role)

· Update basin analyses for new wells, new discoveries and changes in assumptions

· Continue to develop knowledge of the global exploration business to support for internal and external users of the Exploration Service and to ensure that the analysis included in the Exploration Service is at the cutting edge

· Write occasional Insight reports on the key issues facing the exploration business and presents these to colleagues and clients as appropriate

· Contribute new ideas, enthusiasm and desire for excellence to the work of the team

 

Authoring of Annual Benchmarking Reports  (ongoing approx. 10% of role)

· Contribute to annual benchmarking reports included in the Exploration Service

 

Participation in Consulting Mandates (approx. 10% of role)

· Contribute and lead parts of consulting engagements in which the Exploration Service Team are involved, particularly where clients are North American Exploration Service targets

 

 

Knowledge and Experience

Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the upstream industry, and the exploration business in particular, and have at least 5 years relevant energy industry experience.

 

A background in Geology would be advantageous, but not essential.
