BT is one of Europe's leading providers of communications services, with over 21 million corporate and residential customers in the UK alone. Principal activities include local, national and international telecommunications services, higher-value broadband and Internet products and services, as well as IT solutions. Head of Reward, BT Americas (Virtual Position that can be worked anywhere in the United States-pr Role Purpose: To perform, develop and structure all Reward activities across US & Canada (approx 3,000 employees). Focus and support is primarily provided to the Global Services Line of Business within BT but this role also supports the Reward activities for the other Lines of Business operating in country (BT Design, BT Operate and BT Retail). Key Challenges: As member of the BT Reward Centre of Excellence and specifically the Global Services Reward team, he/she has a dual reporting line to the VP Reward BTGS and to the BTGS HRVP Americas. § To translate and apply strategic and business targets to shape reward processes, products and services specific for the region within the overall BT and GS reward strategy and principles. - Deliver programme that introduces contractual flexibility § To proactively partner with senior management and HR colleagues within the business to deliver the reward agenda within the region § To define reward actions for the region within global guidelines. § To initiate and develop local reward processes/products/services to support the business strategy for the region. § To evaluate the effectiveness of current reward practices/processes within the region for suitability in facilitating change § Continuously review current policies and proactively seeking to align / standardize these where possible § Act as the internal consultant in providing continuous support and advice to the HR community on all Reward issues pertaining to the region § Support the implementation of a number of key reward projects within GS in the Americas - embedding the BT Reward Framework including job sizing and pricing for all Americas roles. - Bonus and benefits alignment - Lead the analysis and recommendation around harmonisation of reward elements of recent and future acquisitions § Manage and co-ordinate annual reward processes on behalf of the region e.g. pay & bonus review, through-year increases, share programmes, retention schemes, etc. § Support and advise on the reward elements of business and HR programmes that impact the region specifically implementation of professional communities, global sourcing, mobility programmes Skills/Experience: Demonstrable experience of: § Compensation & benefits professional at a senior level § Accuracy and attention to detail, analytical thinking § Ability to cope under pressure and manage high workload § Ability to work on a number of different projects at the same time § Project management skills § Commitment to deliver to deadline and required quality § Ability to deal with confidential data in a professional manner § Ability to work in a matrix organisation Key attitudes : § highly organised § operationally driven service minded, result-oriented § diplomatic, negotiator § Relationship builder, cultivate an excellent understanding of BTGS organisation, its players and motivators § Flexible and stress resistant, able to deal with multiple inter-company interfaces and multiple, sensitive, projects simultaneously § Team player and motivator, able to work closely with colleagues from the same and other departments § Mature and autonomous, able to take on challenges and ownership § Straightforward, open-minded personality who is motivated to get the job done in time and taking into account the requirements stated He/she has acquired advanced and significant experience in a US compensation (benchmarking, job matching) position within consulting or industry (Telco and/or IT Services is a plus), coupled with process and project management experience. International experience is an asset. A university degree and excellent command of Excel and HRIS (PeopleSoft) also required.
